You can find two photo essays from my recent trip to the Amazon on Matador, America's largest independent travel network.

The first is a general overview of the region, taking in the River Negro, jungle treks and visits to tribal villages.

The second is centred around the utterly unique Boi Bumba festival in Parantins.
